Basics
Appearance
› In his original body, Wei Wuxian was considered quite handsome, ranking fourth overall in the list of top best looking cultivator gentlemen of his generation. He has a fit, athletic build despite his tendency to skip out on training, largely acquired from simply running around and his considerable natural ability. His posture is garbage. He is described as often having an energetic warmth and a hint of a grin in his expression, although once he turned to Demonic Cultivation he grew much colder.
› As is common in his world, his black hair is kept long. In his youth, he wore it in a high ponytail and tied with a red ribbon ( a look he would also adopt again in his second life ). Later in his first life after becoming the Yiling Laozu he wore his hair mostly loose aside from a few pieces pulled back and tied with his same signature red ribbon. No matter how he wears it never seems to ever want to lie completely flat or neatly. Wei Wuxian's eyes are described as being grey although when he would activate his Demonic Cultivation abilities they would turn noticeably red.
› He possesses numerous scars — the most significant of which are the remnants of an arrow wound to the arm, a stab wound to the gut, and a brand on his chest in the shape of the Qishan Wen Sect Sigil.

ryslig he has many more scars as a result of his body being restored. As such, his forearms in particular bear numerous pale scars that make it seem like they all fit together like puzzle pieces. These grow less intricate further up on his arms ( like radiating cracks ) although his shoulders and neck also have what appear to be human-shaped bite marks.

› In his youth, Wei Wuxian wore the purple robes of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect.› He is best known for wearing black robes with red and grey details and would likely probably stick more or less to this
Demeanor & Attitude
› Wei Wuxian is known for his energetic personality, impulsiveness, and penchant for mischief, caring little for the rules. He is often described as "shameless" or having a "thick face" for his willingness to say and do things that would embarrass and shame others. He enjoys playing around and teasing others.› He does care deeply for others despite how flippant he might seem at any other time, especially when it comes to those he loves. He possesses a strong sense of justice and a self-sacrificing spirit, willing to take whatever comes his way if he feels like he's doing what is right.
› He is a creative and inventive thinker, having invented and mastered his Demonic Cultivation in only three months. He also created other useful items that the cultivation world would later adopt as tools for night-hunting.

Voice
› An example can be found here. In general he tends to put plenty of feeling and inflection into his voice when he speaks and his expression can be gleaned almost just from his tone alone.Skills & Abilities
› Cultivation Knowledge / Training: training in martial arts ( hand to hand combat ) resulting in increased strength, speed, and agility, as well as swordsmanship. Also well-versed in qi manipulation and spiritual practises that grant the ability to deal with ghosts, monsters, and other troublesome creatures. As he was raised as a disciple of the Yunmeng Jiang Sect he was trained in their unique style, as each Sect has a slightly different approach and a unique sword style.› Demonic Cultivation: Considered "cheating" as compared to traditional cultivation as it allows the user to bypass traditional methods and the need for a golden core to execute powerful techniques. It relies on external "resentful energy" for power which overtime has a negative, corrupting effect on the user. As he invented several techniques and items he naturally retains the knowledge gained. Some examples include the ability to "reverse" the effects of traditionally written talismans, altering them with the use of human blood as ink to alter how they work. Another example is Empathy which involves allowing a spirit to temporarily possess him in order to more or less grant the spirit to tell its story via memory sharing. It comes with a risk in that one can become lost if the spirit is particularly strong
› Martial Arts: To expand from the above, Wei Wuxian is from a genre where this is a central component. His is skilled in combat and as a swordsman ( although by now he is somewhat out of practise ), possesses a high level of ability as an archer, and has been capable of jumping up onto roofs with ease and snatching shot arrows right out of the air.
› Six Arts: The gentlemanly arts of ancient China, which include rites ( ex. tea drinking, mourning, governance, knowledge of names and titles, morality, history, etc. ), music ( he plays the dizi flute quite well ), horsemanship, maths, and calligraphy. His handwriting has been pointed out as particularly loose and not exactly ideal, but if he puts his mind to it he is very capable of better skill with a brush and is actually a very good artist.
› Intelligence: He has a real talent for improvising and adapting on the fly and his general demeanour likely leads most to assume that he isn't nearly as bright or observant as he is. He is willing to think outside the box, looking past moral judgments and taboos to achieve a goal, if he must. He has a lot of knowledge that serves him in canon as he spends his time ( in his second life ) trying to solve problems and unravel a mystery.
› Spice + Alcohol Tolerance: He is known to drink liquor like water and handle it well. Yunmeng is known for its spicy cuisine but he takes it even a step further to the point that most people consider his cooking inedible and have described it as suffering.
