Age: 30s* ↳ (physically; he still has the mind of someone in their early 20s, so naturally he seems very immature a lot sometimes) Occupation: ↳ Senior Executive Vice President @ Jiang Corp. ↳ Part-time Monster Hunter ↳ the Black Bunny
Connections: ↳ Jiang Cheng - foster brother ↳ Lan Wangji - close friend(??), partner in crime in monster-adjacent activities ↳ Shen Yuan - friend, fellow gremlin ↳ Liu Qingge - acquaintance, fun guy to dunk on at all times ↳ Coraline Li - acquaintance, fellow monster sympathiser
AU Background: Wei Wuxian's parents were killed in a monster attack when he was a small child and the trauma of the experience left him with a lasting fear of werewolves. He came to eventually be taken in by the Jiang family as their foster child and was raised alongside Jiang Cheng. He attended the same exclusive, fancy academy as Jiang Cheng and also Lan Wangji and soon earned a reputation for being a troublemaker. He did pretty well in school otherwise despite not taking it seriously and pissing off the faculty, things just seeming to come easily to him in that way. Even so, he is not very ambitious in business and would rather leave all of the paperwork and politics to Jiang Cheng while he assumes a secondary support role. Sometimes that involves dealing with people and other times that might involve problem solving.
Naturally, given his own life experiences and the eventual loss of Jiang Cheng's parents (which was assumed to be monster-related) he was initially very on board with anti-monster sentiments and took up vigilante monster hunting with the others, including Liu Qingge and occasionally Shen Yuan.
At some point one of Jiang Cheng's investments goes awry in that he didn't realise that what he was putting money into could blow back on the his reputation and the reputation of the business in a negative way, which is how Wei Wuxian eventually finds his way into Bavan's underworld himself in order to make sure that doesn't happen. Or, at the very least, if someone has to take the fall for something he would prefer that it be him and not Jiang Cheng.
This work also brought him closer than he had ever been to monster society and has been a fairly eye opening experience. He still hunts partly to keep up appearances and partly because the monsters that pose a significant threat can be less of one, at least until the Fog heals them or brings them back again. He is a lot less enthusiastic about it than he used to be.
He has also started disguising himself for anything that involves monster-related work that goes above and beyond what he's had to do to repair the earlier problem. This usually involves working to undermine other hunters and the anti-monster authorities to protect the more innocent and well-meaning monsters from the aggression around the city or anything else as needed. Lan Wangji has also joined him in this as the White Rabbit to his Black Rabbit (although he would assert that Bunny sounds much better) and he met Coraline Li during this time as well.
